One thing that I have noticed being repeated in many of these movies is the Hero slapping the Heroine. Its in almost each and every one of Rajanikanth movie. And also in some of the recently released movies. They make it look as if slapping a female is OKAY. The ridiculous part in the movie I watched today was, the actress confesses her love to the actor. And the actor for no reason in particular slaps the actress. And then starts a song, where both of them remember the slap over and over again and behave as if it was a romantic kiss instead of a forceful slap. I seriously did not get this part. Is slapping some kind of a foreplay? Am I living in a different dimension or did the Director have some weird ideas about romance?
My hubby says that in tamil movies they like to show male dominance and hence the slapping. Beats me! Isn't that cowardice?
There are SO MANY Rajanikanth followers and devotees (calling them fans would be belittling them), I wonder how many people have been influenced by such scenes.

Down with the Chauvinist pigs! I don't know why they propagate this especially in a cinema crazy India where the general public will definitely try to emulate such actions.
That's crazy! Real crazy .. I can't believe they even have a song after that. They show such things n the stupid ppl who worship these actors consider it an achievement to follow them. When wil such things stop or will they ever :(
I havent seen Rajnikanth south-movies but may be the idea is to generate emotions within a man when he lost control to fall in love.
It is like a saint falling in love may be.
I don't think saints should be slapping women, do you Hobo? :)
Avanti & Swaram: Exactly ! God knows when they will stop showing such crap in Indian movies.
Sometimes, not only does the guy slap the girl, but she responds with "Why didn't you slap me so many years ago, when I did this or this...", directly thanking him for the slap. I think the scenes show the mentality of the Director and the Actors, Hindi movies have such scenes too, and there is no doubt that such scenes influence the thinking of the fans or devotees.
Instead of focusing only on banning smoking and kissing scenes I wish they would censor such scenes.
Saints do not slap but few times good man who do not belive in woman love lost patience may be.
